InSPIRE is a non-partisan, non-religious 5-week long immersion program that reconnects young Indians and South Asians from abroad to India.

It’s an opportunity to discover what we’re passionate about … to re-evaluate our aspirations as we explore and challenge our assumptions about ourselves and about our relationship with the world around us.

Looking deeper at India. Looking deeper at Yourself.
And the interrelatedness of the World.

The 5-week program will:

  • Build leadership skills
  • Provide hands-on experience in the development sector in India
  • Open doors and build contacts with Indian NGOs (non-governmental organizations, what we often call non-profits) that work at the grassroots level
  • Give you the confidence to travel, work, or serve in India on your own
  • Connect you with like-minded young South Asians
  • Lead you to think outside the box about India, the world, and your role
  • Inspire you

InSPIRE is resuming its summer immersion program in 2009 with a 5-week long session from June 26 to August 2.

The short duration and middle-of-summer dates allow participants from quarter, semester and trimester system universities the flexibility to schedule other activities before or after the program, such as volunteering with an NGO in India, visiting relatives in India or getting a job.

InSPIRE seeks open-minded individuals that are genuinely interested in exploring themselves and their identity, and are earnestly willing to understand development in the context of India.

Applicants are required to be of South Asian origin and fall in the age range of 18 to 24.

Exceptions will be considered. Please contact us at info@summerinindia.org.
